Not all that amusing, when all said and done.

my local tip is brilliant. the gutys have always come over to help unload and if theres not much, like one bag they usually take it for me. even in the pouring rain.

as for not letting people in the exit. i think if they are moving skips about then it will be policy that no one is allowed in the yard. it is company policy at my place of work that no one is allowed into the yard and all doors leading to the yard are locked during skip changeover. this was put into place after a member of staff was squished against a wall by a skip when it got a wobble on.

The workers at my tip / recycling centre are very helpful, it's often the other members of public that are a pain.

It's a small tip that requires some logical parking, but as you've guessed it, some numpty always messes up the system.

Apparently, 'they' can't see the other 6 cars parked bonnet / boot to the skips, oh no, they just abandon their car in the middle, blocking all those cars in, and causing massive queues down the road.

Although do other people always manage to visit their tip as it's closed for skip changing, or is it just me?

dicky- with the greatest respect (ie none) you are an idiot.

Though I did expect the usual tirade from the usual suspects :)

As I said in my first post - I drove up the exit as it was completely clear - nothing around. I could clearly see where the big truck was moving stuff around, it was over on the other side of the site.

I can totally understand them not allowing cars in at the entrance, but it would have been very sensible to allow cars to enter via the exit if they were unloading things that were to go into the skips next to the exit.

Hopefully that was not too hard for you to understand :)

Interestingly I did not use the term jobsworth in my original post, but if the shoe fits....

Ahhhh - so it seems you are one of those people who believe that rules do not apply to you then!

A one way system is a one way system - irrespective of whether the route is congested or otherwise.

Workplace transport routes and segregation is designed to keep heavy vehicle movements away from pedestrians as there is only one winner.

I will obviously be wasting my time and effort in attempting to explain why these sites are rigourously inspected due to the high frequency of accidents that occur in the waste recycling industry - I tried in a previous post but it has disappeared for some reason - can't think why.

Because apart from getting your argument across you resorted to direct abuse towards another member which is against forum rules.

Do you mean 'direct abuse' which was aimed at me in the quote above? - Is this also not against 'forum rules'?

Some may suggest that the administrators of this site should view the complete thread before reacting to a complaint, but if my post was removed for quoting the word 'idiot' which was in response to the post that initially used the word, then the above should also be removed based on your assertion that it was 'direct abuse'.

Hopefully the person who reported the post may review the one I responded to (#8) and perhaps get that removed as well - although the old 'sticks and stones' adage comes to mind and I couldn't care less to be honest.

The sensible posters on here will be able to draw their own conclusions.

I was called an idiot, despite being able to back up my post with facts - based on the job I do - so again, is it me who is the 'idiot' or is it someone else who totally ignored the recycling site's traffic management system and placed themselves and others in danger - seemingly believing they were different from everyone else who abided by the rules?

It seems that there are many people on these boards who dish out personal abuse but take exception when others respond accordingly.
