Surely those skybet transactions aren't DD. It would also be rich to pay a DD then charge bounced DD fee

Yeah either way its harsh to charge a fee for that. Is that why the fees were reversed?
More likely because Nationwide will usually reverse OD fees as long as you have not been overdrawn in the past 365 days.

Which is most likely why the recent request to refund fees was denied.

I got £50 of fees plus interest refunded when I forgot about my Nationwide account for a while, and they stated then that "We will be unable to refund any future fees you may incur this year.".
  • But i wasnt overdrawn after they refunded me the charges so they should also refunded the next month charges?
  • Ok should i put in £50 on monday and then complaint to the fos will there be a chance of getting the money back and can i pay using my debit card as i done it before when i called flexcollections

I think it all went wrong on the 4th April with the bounced DD and then the charges and charges on top of charges. Then again on the 4th June

Personally I would ask myself why I should even have this account given that its got so little in it, you have another and you are not prepared to leave a working balance in it to prevent charges of this kind. Is it really worth the hassle?

You can't go to the FOS. Firstly because they no longer deal with complaints about bank charges unless they were incorrectly applied (they seem to have been correctly applied here), secondly you have to go through Nationwide's complaints procedure to the fullest extent before you can go to the Ombudsman. All the FOS will do at this point is tell you exactly what I said above in a more sympathetic way and then send your complaint to Nationwide.

They probably won't let you pay using your card, but you should be able to do a bank transfer through your bank's Internet or telephone banking service.

But i wasnt overdrawn after they refunded me the charges so they should also refunded the next month charges?

You were overdrawn in April BEFORE they refunded the charges, and since the refunded charges were for the previous month, new charges came into effect and were applied in June. Likewise, since you were then overdrawn in June, you'll get charges applied in July.

The FOS will not be interested as there is no complaint. You can't really complain as you got charges which they refunded, and then you got further charges which you can't really ask to be refunded as you have already had one set of charges refunded.
and can i pay using my debit card as i done it before when i called flexcollections

Just transfer the £50 and leave it there. The charges will come out and leave you in credit, thus no more charges.

You may wish to put further betting transactions on an account with a higher average balance to prevent this happening again in the future.
