What's in it for LL to manage a property through an agency rather than directly?

    Another reason than already suggested that it is difficult for a LL to find tenants. LL cannot advertise themselves on sites such as Rightmove, these sites only allow agents to sign up/pay a fee and you generally dont attract the right tenants through free sites such as Gumtree.

    Renting out a property is a lot of work as it involves credit checks, reference checks, inventories, setting up a tenancy agreement and if an agent charges the landlord 7% it sometimes works out more reasonable.
