Hi all

I am looking for some advice, this morning I recieved a letter from Advantis using what is probably their standard letter template, however it advised they would apply to my employer for a attachment of earnings, and as I am a senior manager I obviously do not want this so I contacted them. They advised me it was for Littlewoods for an address I lived at probably 10 years or so ago, I advised I do not recall the debt so it was statute barred, she advised me that I acknowledged the debt is 2007 and came up with a payment arrnagement of £60 - again I do not recall this. I need to know what steps to take next, I honestly believe this is now statute barred, so if I proceed down this route will they need to provide evidence it is not, or is it up to me to prove it is? I am at a loss and I told them I would be making no further telephone contact and would be writing to them.

It may be worth noting I currently have three open accounts with SDG, with credit limits appraoching £3000 (combined across all three).

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Advantis are chancers, they wont go for an attachement of earnings. I once got address confirmed letter from them for the previous owner that moved 4 years prior
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Scumbags. There is Cabot, then Moorcroft, then there is Advantis. In practice, as chanz4 says, they're just bottom feeders buying up very old, statute barred debt. They're not going to go down the court route on debts as old as yours.
Never argue with an idiot. Especially not this idiot because I'm always right anyway.

Agreed. There seems to have been a spate of these old statute barred debts popping up on these boards over the last few weeks.

They have no case, ignore them, there is nothing they can do once the debt is statute barred.
