Help needed with website

Options
I'm not terribly technically minded, so I hope I can make myself clear enough for someone to help/advise me.

I've purchased a domain name with yahoo and webhosting with 3ix. I have been reading through the pages on here and so far found answers to many of the questions and problems I've come up against but now I'm stuck.

Firsty, I tried to change DNS settings with yahoo but that doesn't seem to have worked as before I changed them when I typed in my domain name into the address bar I got the yahoo page sayin domain had been registered, now I get a jumbled up message, this is part of the message if it helps : Warning: Unknown(): open_basedir restriction in effect.

Secondly, I had no idea what I had to do to build a website with 3ix, I assumed I had to build one and upload it for 3ix to host ?? unsure of how to do that I downloaded web builder from fantastico but it wouldn't allow me to download it to my domain so I had to create a subdomain and download it to there. That works fine and I have been able to create my website through that.

My problem now though, is what do I do now, do I somehow move the website in my sub domain to my main domain and if so how ? or do I re-direct in someway ? tbh I'm totally puzzled and think I'm way out of my depth here :o

Have I made a complete tom halls of this or is there anyone that can help me sort this out. Sorry if I've not explained all this very well :o

Thanks in advance for any help, advice or assistance.

Sounds like your Domain is locked and you probably need to unlock it so you can point it to your hosting URL.
In terms of hosting do you have a file named index.htm otherwise your website has no starting page?
Post your domain name here and we can figure some of this out for you!
