Halifax reward current account offer

Morning all,

A few days ago I applied for the Halifax reward current account offer with the £100.00 reward + £5.00 PCM for meeting there switching incentive. I done my application online a few days ago and I rang up yesterday to check the progress of my application and the advisor advised me that they haven't received it? Before I submitted my application I checked all my details etc and sent the application. There was no errors or missing info and the application was sent. The advisor recommended me to re-apply so I did that over the phone. As we were going through the application and veryfying my ID and address she had to place me on hold to speak to the underwriting team. She came back and advised me to go to my nearest branch to complete my application and ID check. She did advise me that I can have an account with the Halifax but she is not sure what account? Any advice to what I should do?
I would hate to go to branch and get offered the easy cash account? Any advice and suggestions would be much appriciated.
Let the sunshine.

You dont have any choice, I'm afraid, if you want the account and that's the only way to do it you just have to take the chance. If they offer you another account and you dont want that particular account, then just walk away.

Hope it turns out okay for you.

I've been told that twice, but it turned out not to be true either time.
The advisor recommended me to re-apply so I did that over the phone.
I expect they have sales targets.
She came back and advised me to go to my nearest branch to complete my application and ID check.
If they tell me to go into a branch, I just tell them it's not possible. Then they tell me something else.

But I don't believe a word that phone advisers tell me anyway.

You may still get a response to the online application that they "didn't receive". They aren't very quick, and since they don't acknowledge applications, they leave you on tenterhooks while you're waiting.
