I don't know if anyone will find this useful, perhaps as a present or otherwise, would be ok for websurfing. £59.99 on offer from £109.99 and 10 percent topcashback. Not the greatest tablet but for the price, nice present :)

The Disgo 7000 is a multi function touch screen tablet that offers all the features and functionality you could want at an affordable price. Highlights include the impressive Android 2.3.x Gingerbread Operating System, an ultra thin body of 10.5mm, Full HTML5 support for the next web generation and it comes pre-loaded with easy to use applications. Watch, listen and browse for longer with twice the battery life of 1st generation models.

Powered by a 1 GHz processor with full HTML5 support, the Disgo 7000 will power through web pages like your home PC. 2GB memory may not seem much but with upto 32GB supported via the SD card slot you can store much more.

    Is this a big issue?

No idea Silvercar, it would be an issue in the respect of downloading apps, but their use of the term "official" implies there ---may--- be a workaround.

If you are just using it for the net and email, I can't see a problem.

This review says price at launch £75 ? ? ? ? Much better models with latest Android OS (4.0) and capacitive screens are now available for around £80 so unless your budget is really tight...

As Gondo says, a capacitive screen is miles better than resisitive. So unless you just want to watch movies, i'd definately say stretch a bit, if you can, and get the capacitive.

A simple "tablet" or "ice cream sandwich" search on such places as Amazon, gives a few. Such as:-
    £81.99 free p&p
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ployer-Momo9-Android-Sandwich-Capacitive/dp/B007W2LBP2/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1339310191&sr=8-11

    £77.49 free p&p
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Superslim-Multi-touch-Capacitive-allwinner-Compatible/dp/B0077HAS0G/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1339310713&sr=8-2

    £84.98 inc p&p
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/CloudNine-Neuropad2-Tablet-Capacitive-preinstalled/dp/B0076NR2F0/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1339310801&sr=8-3

    And many more

I think the first one looks the best.
