Flooring/boarding - bathroom refurb

How do all,
I'm looking on embarking on a bathroom refurb in the near future. I'm looking to tile the floor but the boards are (to be blunt) knackered from a cowboy plumber cutting them all to bits.
My question is would you just overboard with 6-9mm WBP or would I be ok with my preferred option of just ripping the floorboards up completely and fixing 25mm WBP straight to the joists?
My main concern is if I overboard, tank and tile I'll need a step to get in the bathroom as I'll have raised the floor level that high!
Any thoughts or suggestions welcome - thanks in advance.

No it would not. It needs to be minimum 15mm or preferably 18mm if using ply. You alternative is to use cement backerboard over the whole lot which would enable you to get away with a smaller height increase. My question is would you just overboard with 6-9mm WBP
Not only it that OK it's the correct thing to do.or would I be ok with my preferred option of just ripping the floorboards up completely and fixing 25mm WBP straight to the joists?
