Visa debit card expiring whilst abroad

Hi

We`re currently living abroad for an extended break for a year or two, possibly permanent and have noticed my bank visa debit card is due to expire in a few months time. Currently we have our house in the UK rented out but we have mail forwarding with the post office to my parents house.
Just wondering if its worth notifying the bank of change of address or let the new credit card hopefully find its way to the forwarding address and let me parents keep it safe until we get a chance to pick it up.

Any ideas??
Thanks

speak to your bank and tell them what you are doing and they can give you best advice.

Are you with First Direct by any chance? I know they'll let you have an overseas address and send you your new debit card by courier like they did with me in UAE a few years ago. However the risk with telling other banks is that they may decide to close your account once they know you're no longer a permanent resident in UK. To be on the safe side, get it sent to your parents.
