My handle is a bit of a strange mix but then so am I! £300 - £350 is only for shower - new distribution board at £250 is on top - Like your handle too by the way!0

I was thinking the maths thing too:
£ 350 to include the new CU etc = worryingly cheap.
£ 350 + £ 250 = possibly on the expensive side if done at same time.
Cheers
Edit we posted at the same time so its number two then but that doesn't change my thought. The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has it's limits. - Einstein0 -

hi there im an electrician and to install a shower is normally
£350 (including shower £120 electrics £150 plumbing £80 and circuit tests/registration with council)
Consumer unit normally £350 includes full house test but with the above £600 all in sounds reasonable
be aware when the fuseboard is changed you require a Domestic Certificate from the electrician and it also needs registering with the local council which the electrician if registered can do
also you may also need earth bond to gas/water dependent on installation
also be aware once new fuseboard fitted some electrical items if of considerable age may trip the baord and need replacing( very rare though)
the costs seem high but when you pay £500+/yr for part p registration £80/yr for the test equipment to be calibrated £2 for the council registration as well as the usual expenses it soon adds up0 -
Bluecelticgirl...Sorry for not being clear.
Looking at what you are getting for the money seems a little too cheap thats why I suggested asking for a detailed quote, then you have a breakdown.
Sorry for getting back a little late..

Hi: was just thinking, if you had a combi then a thermostatic bath shower mixer would fit the bill at significantly lower expense in terms of both material, installation and running costs.
Btw..would recommend a Mira Sport Electric.

I think that's the one we have and we like it, just be aware that you have to reach into the shower to start it, which is fine if you can do that before getting into the shower.
Err, I hope that makes sense0 -
Thanks all for advice - much appreciated0
