I keep getting this error from time to time on my PC running XP:
Stop (blue screen) error caused by a device or driver
You received this message because a hardware device, its driver, or related software has caused a stop error, also called a blue screen error. This type of error means the computer has shut down abruptly to protect itself from potential data corruption or loss. In this case, we were unable to detect the specific device or driver that caused the problem.
Here are the results of a crash report I ran:
On Fri 08/06/2012 18:07:30 GMT your computer crashed
crash dump file: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini060812-01.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: win32k.sys (win32k+0x37446)
Bugcheck code: 0x10000050 (0xFFFFFFFFE21FC01C, 0x0, 0xFFFFFFFFBF837446, 0x1)
Error: CUSTOM_ERROR
file path: C:\WINDOWS\system32\win32k.sys
product: Microsoft® Windows® Operating System
company: Microsoft Corporation
description: Multi-User Win32 Driver
The crash took place in a standard Microsoft module. Your system configuration may be incorrect. Possibly this problem is caused by another driver on your system which cannot be identified at this time.
Can anyone shed any light on what it could be, and more importantly, what I can do to stop it ?
Thanks

You keep posting about different problems, on this machine.
The solution is
1. Backup and Reinstall windows
or
2. Replace it.
or
3. Hijackthis log. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/hijackthis/!!

yes the report inidcates a "driver error" which is causing the conflict but the error code suggest a "memory error" on one of your sticks of ram which may/may not have failed. first of all prove they are working ok with the first link in the first post i gave you the use to check if are correct then when you know that is correct then you can you use the second link to get access to the device manager to see which piece of hardware has the yellow triangle which the conflicting hardware driver then you can restore to the old driver on a roll back to the driver before, its not rocket science or shall people not bother giving the correct answer as you don't/want to listen.
failing that all that is too much hassle proving you have backed up photo's and important files as i know people do. just reinstall windows making sure you do a full format first, make the computer like new again but you will have to reinstall every program you have ever had.
failing that is beyond you take it to pcworld where they will do the bare minimum charge you the maximum because the love customers who don't know/can not be bothered.
enjoy now0
