It's about time bankers woke up and smelt the roses. No-one believes the feeble explanations and excuses they offer for their lying and cheating the public any more.

People with a modicum of intelligence understand the banking system perfectly well. They understand that if they use a service provided by a bank which is chargeable, they will be charged.
The only ones who feel they are being "lied to" are the ones who don't have the intelligence to understand the simple things in life. The majority of people manage it quite well.
