Can I reclaim if I've made a claim?

That may sound odd, but 6 years ago I developed Cancer and took a long time off of work to recover, this led to me getting into financial difficulties.
Whilst speaking to my bank about my arrears I discovered I had PPI on part of my mortgage (extra borrowing for an extension), I had no idea i had this as I never covered anything else.
I made a retrospective claim which they paid, and a subsequant one when I got made redundant some yeras later.
My question is whether I can claim for the 5 years or so I was paying when i never knew I had it?
As it is I would probably keep it running now.
Any comments or help appriciated.
Regards

It is not about periods you paid. It is about whether it was sold to you correctly or not.As it is I would probably keep it running now.
in which case you must not complain. A complaint is about being sold a policy you didnt want. It will effectively void the policy as if it never existed and would leave you without cover.
If you did complain and succeed in your complaint, the policy would cease, the premiums minus the amount paid out in claims would be paid to (assuming the premiums were more than the claims which in most cases they are not).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Which in turn means a complaint would probably work to the benefit of the insurer at your expense.0
