Well done on the new job Frequent :T:T:T
Hope we can soon say the same to you Cerian
My DH is a self employed decorator....but he's the opposite to you Frequent. Went back to working for himself after being made redundant last year from a job he'd had for 10 years. My husband says he will leave me if I don't stop shopping......... God I will miss that man.0 -

Are your insurance company not sorting you out a courtesy car? They did when I had mine, and that was with an insurance assessor passing the accident and writing my car off there and thenI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. French_Knickers wrote: »Well tonights tea. I had a rummage in the freezer and found a large pack of sarnie ham getting a bit old so it got me thinking! A look in the freezer located a pepper that was a bit tired too.
A plan was hatched!
In the cupboard was a nice tomato and chilli napolina pasta sauce so that went into the slowy while the ham went in the microwave to soften it enough for chopping. Also in the freezer were some chopped shrooms (like that surprised anyone??) and some chopped courgettes so a handful of each of those got tossed in too along with the sliced pepper. The ham was rouchly chopped and that follwed the veg into the pot. A quick stir and then to cook for a while. Later I'll boil some pasta and stir it all in together.
Hopefully it will taste ok!!
FK your meals always look soooo yummy! Ive just had my (whoopsied) tea but I could still eat that! It kills me when Im catching up late on an evening & one of your meals appears! I have to fight the urge to go to the fridge!!:)0 -

CongratulationsI'm only doing WW because it's virtually free through quidco. (£32 odd for three months and £30 cashback)
Well done you!!. Dieting and giving up smoking is really hard! And sticking to both with a newborn is even harder.
I lost a bit earlier on this year with Westie but I didn't stick to it when I wasn't feeling well and all the new tablets I'm on have weight gain as a side effect. I can't excercise very easily as my balance is so poor, and I spend far too much time sat on my backside on here :rotfl:
Somethings got to give.....and at the moment it's the seams in my trousers:D
I would like to take all that sympathy but I don't deserve it.
I got shingles 8 years ago up until then I had always been a size 8-10 then stopped smoking 6 years ago and DD is 16 months old so I have had plenty of time to do something about it.
Final straw was getting some new work trousers in a size 14 and they don't fit:eek::eek::oI love to help people by sharing my bargains:o0 -

I think it's this joke of a government who need to be blamed, not the Police. It's the same story throughout the country, cut-backs. Look at the armed forces, just had another lot of redundancies to supposedly save money.
I know from personal experience that the people taking redundancy will be getting a large lump sum of tens of thousands of pounds and a pension paid from the day they leave. Their jobs at the UK based units then get contracted out to large civilian companies who charge a hell of a lot more than any Serviceman would ever get.
The Police Service is going the same way. Recently there has been talk of contractors running all Police station duties. It's only a matter of time before the UK has private security patrolling the streets too.
Cuts, cuts, cuts (I should add an 'n' to that word) - that's what it's all about with these jokers.
Unfortunately Bubbs' situation is going to get more and more common.:(0 -
Evening all - my day didn't turn out as I'd planned. Was catching up this afternoon while DS supposed to be having a sleep. Turns out he didn't want a sleep so got up to play with his cars and tractors... then about 4.15pm, i put the tv on for him. When i went back to check on him, his eyes were almost purple underneath and were really watering. I put him in the car to collect my husband from work and it was like he was drugged!! He nodded off straight away, before I'd even left our drive. I panicked a bit and wondered if he was unconscious as his eyes were rolling etc. Anyway, got back home and he has fallen asleep on the sofa and been like that for over half an hour (he never sleeps on the sofa). He looks exhausted but I don't know what is wrong with him, apart from a snotty nose. It looks like man flu...(!) So I'm not panicking just yet.. will wake him in ten mins and perhaps give him ibuprofen and put him straight to bed. It's just so unlike him.Tiger
