My head is still cotton wool. We had a lovely holiday and then we had to come back to spend the last week firstly trying to regain control of the garden and then the rest of this week I've been sent demented by estate agents and solicitors .....

I think even venturing into T this weekend will seen normal and sane :D

hi the 'make a meal with' coupon is in the Real Food mag but they are quite scarce now. the coupon runs out this Monday.

Depending on the SA you can use two of these coupons and get two of the products with make a meal on, in the chiller, near the cooked meats. Most are on offer at 2 for £3.00. There is also a coupon for £1 off cooked meat and pate in the current price flop mag you can use with these, thus making the make a meal free. Some folks have got trouted with these, depends on the SA.

There is also a bottle of Tesco bordeaux Rose wine cheap, I think it was £10.99 and it is now something like £2.74 and you get a discount for buying 6 bottles.

I got 5 bottles, and asked a man in a suit to look up if there are more... he said that's funny, we aren't supposed to have any! The system says we don't have any. ...So I said, that must be because I have them all, and they have a white SEL, and for £2.74 I am quite pleased. :D Thanks for checking! :D:D

I feel for you, this happened to us too, I sent a formal letter asking for 4 days off and it was rejected they said that my dd had already had too much time off, I wrote back asking them to reconsider and reminded them that the only reason my dd had had any time off this year was because she fell and broke 2 bones in her foot while in school and during a lesson!! They wrote back finally giving permission but said all requests for leave we're now being rejected for all pupils, apparently it's the local authority who made this rule.

I know so many parents who just take their childen out of school, one boy has just returned from a 2 week holiday with his mam and was back in school for 4 days before going on a 2 week holiday with his dad! I know both parents want a holiday with their child but none asked permission and the school does nothing and someone who asks just get refused! Makes you wonder why bother

Whether you request and are turned down or just take the time off it is recorded as absent. It is local authorities who make these rules for the schools, not the school, the head or the teachers.

The schools don't 'do' anything about these absences they are visited at least termly by the local authority officer who goes through the register and it is the local authority who take action against parents for absences not the actual school.

Personally as a teacher I would be more than happy for a good few of the children in my class to be off more often - but its never the really annoying ones who have time off.:p
