I love the irony of sitting in tesco in a 4p pair of jeans, 1p socks getting a £44 laptop out of a £2 laptop bag and hooking up to Tesco's wifi (for free) to search for more bargains! ;)

£44 laptop?! Why did I not find this site sooner! Haha

Sorry as another food related question. Got a joint of beef earlier but it's double the size we normally get. It's one of those vacuum packed ones. Could I cut in half tomorrow and freeze one bit or is it not advised? Thanks :D

Everything will be ok in the end, and if it isn't ok then it isn't the end :)

No problem with that - in fact the package will state whether it is suitable for freezing or not.

However, what I would do with a big joint is roast it all in a low oven (gas 3/4) for hours using a meat thermometer stabbed right in the middle to make sure it is cooked to 140F perfection, let it rest for half an hour at least. The thermometer will likely go up another 10F.

Carve what you want for fresh hot Roast & Yorkies, then when cool leave in the fridge. When chilled I use my meat slicer to make perfect roast beef slices then chill some and freeze packets of them. Instant Roast Beef from the freezer when needed in future, or roast beef 'donner' kebabs, chinese chippy style beef curry with Goldfish curry sauce, etc... ;)

:mad::mad: Someone is being scammed rotten at the moment by a 'girlfriend' in Nigeria & sending £1000s out to 'her' daily. He's cashed in his ISAs :mad:

I am utterly amazed people fall for this kind of thing, but then I am a natural sceptic :) but sadly suffer from a bit of cynicism too :(

You should put this guy onto http://www.thescambaiter.com/. The guy who runs it is absolutely hilarious, but mostly deals with nigerian postal scammers, etc.

He has a scambaiting queen that deals with the "sweetheart" scams. She's seen it all. Well worth putting him onto this.

    Good morning all,

I'm still feeling rubbish, but determined to get a few bits done around the house today. My little boy has been so well behaved and understanding that I'm unwell :)

:D thank you Tiger - he's doing grand - it's just our £££s Vet trying to frighten us into bringing him in for another round of blood tests etc that he doesn't need - he's old - end of
I've been & bought him lots of expensive tiny cat foods with names like Gourmet Perle Trout & Spinach (do cats eat spinach?)etc.
& he's eaten more than he has done in a week.
I think now he was bored with cooked chicken & turkey & needed a change.
I'll have to freeze the 3 chickens I've cooked & stripped for another time :)

Is there anything in thr Make-a-Meal that might tickle Ancient Cat's fancy? Maybe the pulled beef for a change? I'm sure you know where some is going free at the moment.

Morning all. Thank goodness it's stopped raining for now. We had a horrendous storm last night and so much rain. I got soaked coming out of T's and the car park was flooded. No good for wombling. I did find a 138 points in the morning (3 x fosters and 6 x beer), no poiints claimed and no offers on. I am hoping this might give me £6 but who knows what may compare.
