. but he now knows he is a freind and nothing else. he was sad, but understood my reasons. i asked him to stop putting "my love" on his texts as this was making me feel uncomfortable about our friendship. we compromised and he is still gonna put "xx". which is okish.
so hopefully now the air is clear we can get back to the matter in hand. his son with mental problems.
Pleased for you and think you handled it just right:TBeware!!!! Glitching is addictive:rotfl:0 -
Done my circuit of the local T's and no Thorntons to be had around here for £1.00 a box. A variety of SELs - £7, £5, £3 all for the same chocs. Scanned through at E3 in one store and £3.50 in the others. Also the Haribo someone found at 12p, were still scanning at £1 in all the T's I have been in.0

Has anyone tried the Union flag men's socks to see if they have been reduced? No scanner at my store and there were only a few pairs left so I thought that maybe they have been reduced. Not many people in my part of Wales would wear these so I was surprised to see so many sold.0

I wonder how many people here are like me and hate to throw out perfectly good money off vouchers when they can be used by someone else. I've got loads of the mags with the Make a Meal moc in that I won't be using ;-)Avatar courtesey of HC :beer:0

Hi all,
We are currently in the process of communicating the change. It's great that you have already noticed. We are changing the name from Price Check to Price Promise; this is a direct result of our conversations with customers.
Ou...r plan for the UK business has price and value at its heart. We've been listening to what our customers tell us they want to see from us on price comparison, and we have made some simple changes to our price comparison offer. We offer the best overall value on price - that's our price promise to our customers.
You have made a few points about some of the changes to this, I can see a few criticisms. I have passed on these concerns to our price check team.
Many thanks,
Stuart- Customer Care

In the process of communicating the change, is not really good enough i'm afraid. Surely you should have communicated this before you actually made the changes and not in hindsight. Can you tell me exactly how you intend to communicate this change, as your communications on the previous 'price check' weren't exactly good for your customers of your staff. Most customers know nothing about the 'price check' and many of your staff do not understand it and either refuse the vouchers, ask to keep the accompanying receipts (despite your terms saying that these need to be signed and returned to the customer) or say they have never seen a voucher before.
Do your new communications come with some added staff training?
I would also very much like to know how you did your survey of customers leading to the change in the price check. I for one have not received any communications asking me what I would like to see in store or with regards pricing and I'm sure the majority of your customers have not been asked to give their views.
You also say you are a UK business, but this is not strictly true as even though you operate through different Ltd companies, you are actually a worldwide business and operate in many other countries too.
I would also like to disagree with your statement 'We offer the best overall value on price', how have you come to this conclusion? because I know that like many others, once an Asda is opened nearby, I will be shopping there instead as they offer much better pricing and in addition, if something is actually cheaper in tesco by being on promotion at that time, I know I will not lose out because of their 10% price guarentee. So could you please explain to me how you are actually going to compete with this to retain your customers? I'm sure your response will include the offer of clubcard benefits, but i'm afraid in times of recession it is the price of food that is foremost in everyones mind and not the offer of a cheap day out or a few nights at a hotel.A clinically depressed person with a sleep condition. Both of my receipts, that I've re-entered, came straight back and they have got less than 8 items. Hope that helps:)
The pizza one, I was intending to change the time and resubmit. The others are yet to be entered at all.
I suppose I'll find out on saturday then as I'll not be able to sleep tomorrow night until ive sorted this out. Sad I know, but I'm choked up with the cold and dreading the flight home tomorrow as it really hurts when you have blocked sinuses, and was looking forward to hitting t's after I get home as a distraction.
Oh well it was nice while it lasted.I don't have to buy any household chemicals for at least a year, and dishwasher tabs for about 3 years, thanks to ts and their dtd/jtd. My cupboards and freezer are not empty, and i have no excuse to be smelly either;)
It's only a game

Nikkilala, I know you like me are always looking out for chicken, have you seen the Morrisons Chicken Breast Steak - 400g pack for £2. It's advertised in the papers today (max 3 per customer). I think I may try one pack, could always give it the cats if it is rank.0

One per household is simply unenforceable and I really can't see any SA's asking for a clubcard as it doesn't say you have to show one on the voucher. I'd be screaming discrimination anyway if they said I was only entitled to compare my shopping if I had a clubcard!
Fret not young jedis, the force is still with us.............
Hello Victor.
It may have occurred to Tosco, to program the tills so they only work with corresponding cc number and tpc voucher ?
Also means using wombles that the original customer has collected CC points on, could become allot more difficult.
Have noticed on the apg's the ratio of card to cash is 2 : 1. Got a little trouting using a mere 3 apg's today.
Not to worry, wombled a £75 on way out, as lifted, it ripped in 1/2, the other bit stuck under trolley wheel.
Had to pull about 8 trolleys back to get at it, some concerned looks from passers by :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Back to square one, no apg, no comment.0 -

I tried these yesterday morning, can't remember how much they were, but they weren't reduced in my store.0 -

OK so which customer was it that said they wanted the jtd capped at £10 and that they would like to only be able to submit reciepts with 8 items or more on. Doh, of course I know who it was, it was the CEO when he went there to do his weekly shop (by mistake as he thought he was in Harrods).Avatar courtesey of HC :beer:0
