Re the WHSmith cards
Just been to 3 stores
Interestingly one allowed me to use up all my old normal gift cards for 4 offers but wouldn't let me use new cards for the deal, ie the cards she just gave me, i ran out of my old cards after 4 deals as i spent most of them before on stamps
2nd store doziest lad ever and thought my luck was in but he clocked on after my first and called a supervisor who said I couldn't buy the deal over and over with the new purple gift cards ( the old ones were blue, new lot are purple)
3rd store dozy mare said offer didn't trigger at till
So I bought a largish spend electrical item for £60 which I will return tomorrow for a " normal gift card" and go back to store 1 and do it all over again
Where's the smiley for a cheesy grin gone againGRATITUDE WHEN GIVEN, PATIENCE WHEN DENIED
Please press the thanks button when someone has helped!0 -
for those getting a bit stressed over the bootlegging cigarettes.....yes technically its illegal....like FK said though, many do it as a favour to friends.
If we want to get technical and a bit ranty towards each other, do any of you consider fleecing Ts to be illegal? Because in the eyes of the law, certinly some of our activities ie, actively seeking DTD could be proven to be illegal in terms of obtaining goods by deceptionhoping for a very MSE Ts glitching 2012!0 -

MY Dad buys a couple of cartons of ciggies and GIVES them away individually to those in the pub that are most in need.
Always the part time barmaid who is struggling and the oldest drinker who gets hardly any pension......so he doesn't make a few bob but the pleasure is worth so much more.
P.S. my dad is well into his seventies!!0 -

Bringing a few fags back for a mate is not unknown, hawking them down the Dog & Duck is completely different, you have admitted marking up by almost 200%, so your main motivation was profit, I'm sure nothing will come of it, and that your conscience is clear.
they were just thinking they could get a few coins back from their trip. happen to agree with you about profiteering, just like when they keep put up the tax on petrol and all the other taxes us right thinking members of society pay.
