Will start at the beginning,I worked(last pay day was 31/05/12),was told that the factory i was employed at was closing,we were part of a company located elsewhere, though making a completely different product.worked for them for 7and a half years.
On the Friday of 25/05/12 we were asked to go into our factory managers office, whereupon we were told our factory was closing, and we would be paid untill the months end(payment was late, but WAS paid),this was 25 minutes or so before the end of my shift.
We were given a letter,p60,and wage slips for the previous 6 months(had been asking for slips for months). We were also given a letter stating that as our factory was closing, and with no alternative work to offer we were being made redundant from the end of May,but were free to leave today(ie,25/05/12),and all factory keys were handed in and given up,and we left the premise's.
We were told by The manager that we would get a letter the next week from our employers, call them the main site, but this never happened.
I left it for a week, and then e-mailed one of the directors myself, asking where was my p45,redundancy pay,and accrued holiday pay,as i should have gotten them all on my last day.
I was polite, expressing my concern at the company's woes, but firm in my question regarding what i was due by law,and the said director did e-mail me back, telling me they had to make redundancy's at their site, and he was working on getting my/our p45's together as an urgent manner, and that the company had gone to Cva,and he would hurry things up,and they should have,or even are writing to me.
Sorry for the wall of text, but i have given it untill today, and the post has been, and once again no letter etc.
So do i sit tight and wait,or is there anything i myself can do,the director did give me in the e-mail i got of him the name of the firm sorting out their finance's,though at the bottom there was a disclaimer, the wording of which i can post some of if needed.
Maybe of no consequence,i am not sure, but our manager, who told us we were finished, and gave us our letter,p60 etc was finished the night before, and only came in on the Friday to tell us himself(he was VERY upset),sorry once again, but don't have a clue what to do now.:(

managers and/or directors should not normally have to make redundancies on their own, what part have your Personel/ Human resources department played in this? Where are they based, can you contact them?
The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....
  • We have no "human resources" dept as such,i could contact them again, but, on Monday i have to return to my ex works to take possession of my own kit,and will discuss it further with my ex manager/work colleagues,as i assume we are all in the same boat, one i know for certain who also emailed them, and contacts me every other day stating he has had no post either.
    Thank you for replying.
