I take it "clad on" end panels are the full size panel that covers the side of the unit to the floor - as opposed to cheaper replacement unit sides (with concealed fixings) that match and a plinth returning into the wall. FWIW I agree and would go for "clad on" everytime.
I started making kitchens over 20 years ago before MDF was a popular product (at least for carcases) and we always used a high grade MFC. It weighed twice as much as the naff chipboard you get from the sheds and was/is a quality product. Cheap chipboard is like wheatabix compared to this stuff and I'd say it was easily on par with melamine face MDF (If I was building my own kitchen I'd go with whichever was cheapest.)0
