Downsizing two cars to one, which NCD to keep?

We are now retired and no longer need to run two cars.
But if I sell my car and cancel the insurance and subsequently my partner is unable to drive or dies I will not have any No Claim Bonus. And vice versa my partner could be without a NCB when they need to get insurance in the future.
So which one of us should maintain our insurance. Any solutions to this dilemma?

Alternate year on year perhaps as, I think, NCD lasts 2 years.
If you don't find joy in the snow,
remember you'll have less joy in your life
...but still have the same amount of snow!0
