Any advice re: my managing agents / landlords

Hello everyone
This is related to a post I made over on the consumer rights forum but wondered if anyone could advise...
We recently checked out of our property after three years renting. We paid £345 for a professional clean of the property and to be brutally honest they could have done a better job if they'd turned up blindfolded.
Our landlord has - quite rightly - detailed the things they missed on the inventory and is now planning to hold some of our deposit to pay for a further clean even though we already did what we were supposed to do. I am having absolutely no joy from the company in terms of a refund but they are requesting they are allowed back on site in order to re-clean the things they missed.
Managing agents / landlord is having none of it.
Do I have any rights at all here? Or am I faced with having to pay nearly £800 for a double clean of the property.
So frustrating as I did everything I was supposed to but have been let down by others and don't seem to be able to do anything!

just out of interest, how come you decided not to do it yourself? Granted it is a hassle, particularly if it's a large property however i've always cleaned my house from top to bottom before move out - you know what they say, if you want a job doing properly etc.

i imagine that you don't have any "rights" to get them to do it your way. at the end of the day, the property should be clean and tidy to the standard agreed on the day of check out.

I agree wholeheartedly that the LL/LA are being uneccesarily stubborn however they're well within their rights to refuse remedial action. I think your best bet is to chase the cleaning company for the lost money - how succesful you'll be, i really don't know.

They stiuplated a professional clean. We tried. And failed - clearly.

All you needed to do was buy a receipt book from a stationers do the job yourselves to an excellent standard and then write out a receipt and hand it to the agents. Providing it was a good job you'd never hear about it again.
    It's someone else's fault.
