Cracked emachines laptop casing

Hello - had my laptop for 3 years and it's suddenly started cracking badly around the hinges on both sides. Within a few days it's got so bad it's in danger of falling off so am after getting a replacement but the 'emachines' spares people want £117.
Tried ebay too but can't find anyone selling the top cover....
From looking on a few chat forums seems to be a problem with emachines laptops - wondered if anyone else had experienced this problem and knew where to get a reasonably priced replacement?
