Can it really be called "chicken" as it is technically a 6-7 week old Chick that has been pumped full of growth hormones. Not 100% sure what you find funny? I don't eat poor quality sausages.
I only eat sausages of quality as you will see from my site. We only list makers of quality.
We all have a duty to question where our food comes from.
Perhaps most prolific sausage eater was too bold. I suspect I have tried a wider range than most in the line of my work!also known as The Sausage King0 -

This could be a possiblity. I dare say sales of Mr Matthews (woeful) products have suffered recently. He'll need to get rid of his stock somehow.0 -

I happened on these chickens yesterday before reading this thread. It was lovely to eat, not fatty and not tough.
Mind you, I have in the past given up on "value" chicken, which contained so many chewy bits i thought it was a marathon runner!0 -
Read the "River Cottage Meat Book" (ISBN:034082638X) and "Not on the label" (0141015667).
GIve yourself a blind tasting for the difference between organic, free range and battery chicken meat.
I now find it difficult eating processed chicken meals, as the meat feels funny. The texture is rubbery and strange.
Asda do organic chicken legs quite cheaply which taste great and are roughly £2 a pair. Roasted or slow cooked in a curry they are tasty and tick all the boxes. We just eat a little less meat but try and make sure its better quality, taste and welfare.
I agree, think it is well worth paying a bit extra for a free range or organic and usually I am lucky enough to get one that has been reduced, so it doesn't work out too expensive. The taste is so much better and it isn't all blown up like a football!!Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -

£3 for 2 small chickens at Iceland. Overall weight between 1.4-1.6Kg. Quite a bargain & no fuss about the taste.0
