I think I am going to use a local solicitor in London as I am not comfortable to transfer a few grands to the party who I do not physically meet.
I am looking for the one preferably, within the HSBC conveyancing panel to avoid paying £192.00.
Does anyone have a recommendation for Local Solicitor in London. It does not really matter in which areas of London as long I could personally meet them in their office in London ?
Thank you for your recommendation.

Sorry I don't but you could try ringing the Law Society and they will give you the names of three solicitors if you ask them.0

Why do you want to meet your solicitor personally?0

Is needed - as per Guardian article this is from August (2nd paragraph)0

What areas of London/outskirts are most convenient to you? Only it might be more helpful to people to know this. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -

Thanks.
If possible, in Greenwich council. Greater London within 10 miles traveling from central London will be fine.
Just clarification to my previous post. The reason why I am looking local conveyancing solicitor is that. I am not comfortable to transfer a lot sum of money to someone account without physically meet them and know where their office are. Other reason is local knowledge0 -
We almost bought a house near greenwich a few years ago, though the purchase fell through we had a very good experience with Hughes Narborough and Thomas in Woolwich, SE18. Don't remember the solicitor's name we dealt with but it was a lady.0

Hughes Narboro' in Woolwich are very expensive as I had a recent quote from them and I know that adindas has mentioned in previous posts he also wants good value.
If it's any help to you I am using Cunnington's solicitors for the 3rd time. I've found them pretty efficient before and they have given me a loyal customer discount, which I'm very happy about. :j
They used to have an office in Bexleyheath, but the closest one to Greenwich and SE London/Kent area is now at South Croydon as they moved about a year or so ago. They do have a few other offices, but most are Essex based.
I'm actually taking my paperwork etc to South Croydon branch, even though solicitor who is dealing with my sale/purchase and who has acted for me before is now based at one of the Essex branches, as this is the most convenient option for me and traveling to South Croydon on the train is pretty easy & quick.
One thing I will say about them is that in the past they have been very good on the communication side of things, always available on the phone when I've had any queries.
Now, be aware that I'm not actually making a recommendation here, but Cunnington's do have quite competitive conveyancing fees, so maybe have a look at their website and get a quote.
I elect to fill out my own SDLT form to save on costs as it seems pointless to pay a solicitor to do something you can easily do yourself. So when you get quotes, do watch out for any extras that might well be included elsewhere or that you really don't need. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
