Vanquis

Hi, Back in January l revieved a Vanquis card, with a limit of 500. After Mays statement l received a letter advising my limit would be increased to 1000 after June's statement. I phoned to cancel my poi, and was advised the increase was set up for 7th June. Anyway on Saturday 2nd, l logged on to check my account. I was horrified when l noticed it had gone over the limit by 1.38, this was due to interest being applied on the 3rd June (this was on the 2nd). I made a online payment for 10.00 and have had a look and found the date on the statement says 2nd June 10.00. However I've not had my credit limit increase, does this sound right?

Yes, unfortunately you won't get the increase now; in the letter they sent you to inform you of the limit increase they specifically told you that if you go over the limit, or didn't make your payment on time, then they would not be able to increase the limit.

You will need to wait 6-12 months now before the limit will be increased.

Edit: upon re-reading, it looks as though your actions on paying the £10 quickly *may* have saved your increase. Its a case of wait and see, I think. You'll know within a few days if its going to happen or not.
  • I recently had a call from a company offering to help me claim back money from my mortgage lender for high broker fees. The company said that the government had brought this in and did say that they would contact me again but so far I havent had their call. Does anyone know of this availability to claim?

You need to start your own thread, this is someone elses and it is to do with credit card limits.
  • Thanks Sharply, l phoned this morning and was told no increase as I'd gone over by $1.38, despite having paid in ten pounds. Was told they'd review in 4 to 6 months.
