Where to save for childrens future?

Hi,
I'm new to this so I hope I'm posting in the right place!
I would love advice on where to save/invest money for my children. I am currently saving £100/month in a high street account at 6% but am sure I could probably do better over the long term. I have no need to make withdrawals and plan on continuing saving for the foreseeable future. ? top up CTF, ?OIEC
Many thanks.

presumably the 6% rate will drop to 0.1 % in 12 months time?
if so its useless for long term savings
if we are talking 10 years or more then a stocks and share option shoulde be considered as it has some hope of beating inflation0 -
Remember the tax implications of parents saving for minor children outside tax exempt schemes.
