autotrader scam? shipping247

Hi folks
Has anyone heard of shipping247.co.uk? I saw an ad on autotrader for a bmw that was a little cheap, but was a private seller so I figured that explained it. After a bit of emailing back and forth I was told that the seller was scared of getting scammed so is using an intermediary company to handle the sale and shipping. Sounds a little odd to me, and I saw on a bmw forum someone else mentioned a similar thing.
So the intermediary is shipping247.co.uk and although it looks like a decent site it doesn't come up on google. Its a scam right? I'm guessing I'll be asked for some kind of deposit at some stage...

I just had another look at the website and it doesn't even have a phone number! Guess that settles it!

Also, I looked it up and found this Looks like this guy has loads of companies and they're not even solvent!

Anyone know where to report these guys?

Doing a whois on the domain shows it is registered to a residential address in Newham, East London, and the domain was registered on 8th March 2012.

PS - the domain is registered to a different name than what you linked.

PPS - your link is b0rked; you missed the : after http.

Whois shows that the registrant is based in east london.

It also shows that 1and1.co.uk are the registrars.
You could report your issues to the registrar I suppose.

I don't think the registrar or the web host would be interested to be honest.

There are loads of scams on the Autotrader and eBay using fake websites & fake PayPal invoices etc steer well clear
