Oyster card 3 day season ticket transfer deadline (WARNING)

Hi,

I know this was my own fault but just want to warn others....

I lost my oyster card and when cancelling it arranged for transfer onto a new card. I was advised that I should pick the transfer up by touching in at my nominated station within 3 days.

Due to unforeseen circumstances I missed the deadline.

No problem I thought I will call up and they will extend it....

WRONG

They said the only option was is to cancel my season ticket and issue a refund by cheque no doubt with an admin fee and also charging more to travel in to town the mean time.

No one warned of any consequences of missing the deadline and no one can explain their stupid system. The whole thing is geared up to get as much money out of you as possible.

I hate TFL I wish I had an alternative but they have us over a barrel. There is no other option if you live far enough from the city :(

Rant over

You are right I made the mistake I hold my hands up. But having a little tantrum about it made me feel better and hopefuly will avoid others making the same error.

    Update :

I got the following e-mail today

"The replacement tickets transferred from your failed card through Oyster online failed to be added to your Oyster card. This may be because you had too many tickets on your Oyster card, you did not upload the tickets within the pick up dates at the nominated station, or because of a technical failure.

Please contact the Oyster helpline on 0845 330 9876 (8am - 8pm daily) to arrange for the items to be resent.

    Yours Sincerely,

    Aderemi Ademola"

So I called back and they have set up the transfer again to be collected tomorrow!

There were no notes from my calls last week so it seems they just wanted rid of me or couldn't be bothered to sort out my mistake!

Well provided the person who told me they had put in a refund request didn't actually do it :rotfl:

All that tantruming over nothing eh. I will have to collect my toys back up as well I threw some of them quite far from the pram!

I have got an automatic refund from oyster due to 'faulty equipment'. I have nominated my station for pick up and have 6 days to pick it up. I will not be using my Oyster for travel just now so does anyone know how I pick it up without making a journeyplease?

I would imagine by tapping on the pad on the ticket machine?

Tried that and it didn't work! Could only top up with payment.
  • Get back in touch with the Oyster helpline and ask them. IIRC you have a small window to touch in and out at the same station without a fare being taken, due to maybe delayed/cancelled services

    Check this independant oyster website
