If it doesn't cause any problems for you at work, you should take the day off tomorrow because you need to get something sorted, you just can't carry on like this. Sending you hugs xx

Just make sure you use your day to be proactive and see your doctor, I know from experience it will be tempting to avoid everyone and stay inside.

Its funny, the times I have felt at my worst I havent known the real reason why. Minds are strange things.

I hope you are ok, let your OH take care of you. I know there's not much he can do, but if he's anything like mine, he will be there to provide much needed hugs xx

Thanks ladies, I have had a chat with my OH and fell a bit better (he has been really great) so might go to work tomorrow and arrange an appointment this week even if I have to leave work early.

My main problem is worrying excessively and putting too much pressure on myself (also worrying way too much about what other people think of me) so I think I had best try and arrange some form of counselling as talking does seem to help.

Thank you for your help ladies I really appreciate it, and what you put Pencakes about not knowing the reason why you're upset - its that side of things that scare me but also make me fell really stupid and silly - how can you not know what is making you upset, but I suppose there is a reason I just need to face up to it and get some help.

Sending a massive thank you hug to you both! x

Glad your OH was there for you, I know its easier said than done, but try not to feel guilty about needing him, if you do, just think about if it was the other way round and he needed you for whatever reason, you would want him to come to you for help, even if you didnt always have the answer.

Hope you get something sorted soon, things dont get better over night, but having something to work towards (with the help of counselling or what ever works for you) will make you feel much more positive.

You are very brave for admitting you need some help, so don't feel stupid.

    xx

Lack of friends? Have you tried a website that introduces you to like-minded people? (I daren;t name a good one because of being accused of selling something!)

    Hope you get counselling. x

    Hi Pencakes,

Thank you for your post, I was a bit better today up until about an hour ago when I had another crying episode, my OH (bless him) has been great. I said I felt bad about feeling this way and giving him more rubbish to deal with but his response was "you would do exactly the same and be there for me".

Unfortunately the earliest appointment I can get at a (semi) suitable time is Monday and even then I'm going to have to leave work early to attend- which im worrying and panicing about (having to ask work to leave early).

Im just worrying myself at the moment I said to my OH i think Im really struggling with anxiety at moment, Ive lost my appetite, I keep feeling sick and my chest feels realy tight too, I just think im getting myself so worked up at the moment and cant seem to switch off which really isnt helping.

I am going to make sure I go to my appointment Monday and get help - this is the worst I think I've ever been but Im already worried what other people might say if I have to tell them :(

Sorry for taking over your thread Pencakes! How are you today, are you feeling better/ok? Have you decided if you are going to your doctors or source counselling elsewhere? x

I'm glad you've got an appt Daisy-May, try not to worry about asking to leave early, it's no-one's business why you're going. If they ask you can just say "I'd rather not say if you don't mind".

My issues were all about anxiety so I know exactly how you feel. I found meditation very useful, especially for calming myself down.

    This was very useful:

youtube is also very handy for guided anti-anxiety meditations, here's one I found good:

    Hang in there :)

    Your OH is exactly right.

Dont worry too much about have to leave early. Imagine if you had really bad toothache or a broken leg - you wouldnt think twice about going to get it fixed. Just because its not physical (although your symptoms are) it doesnt mean you have any less right to care/time off.

Dont worry about my thread, its all about supporting each other :)

Ive taken to listening to relaxtion tapes/apps to help me unwind. There is so much going aound in my head I think I will explode sometimes, and they seem to be the only things that help.

Not been to the docs yet, Im putting it off. I suppose I dont really want to admit I have a problem, but I know it wont get better until I do.

Sorry for the late reply, I have been much better today but had a bit of an offish day yesterday.

I think the main thing I strugle with is letting go of my worry and panicing too much so even though today I feel much beeter (the constant knot in my stomach has gone) I astill going to the Doctors Monday to get some help with this Anxiety problem that I have clearly got.

The problem is I will have a few days of being really bad and then I will be ok for a week if not a month so I think "oh Im ok, I dont need help" and then it hits me again, but I am determined I am going to get better, I need to get over my fear of worrying what people will think because I need help for my problems, those who love me will understand, like I said my OH has been great and my mum has been lovely too (i had another crying episode with her :o)

Anyway sorry for the long post, how are you Pencakes? I think I am going to try the relaxation tapes like you have mentioned (Desperado has posted some links that I am going to look into - Thanks Desperado!!)

On another note, I was wondering what other people think of tablets like Kalm, or calming tablets do you think its worth taking these at all to help (not asking for medical help just wondering your thoughts!)? (I might ask my dr when I go)

Take care ladies and thank you very much for your help and support over last couple of days you have really helped xx
