what will happen from the hole ive dug?
Im 5 years and 7 months in to my IVA and ive kinda dug a hole which seemed like a good idea at the time.
when i was about 4 years into the iva i started to look into remortaging thie house but no one wanted to touch me being on an IVA. and even when i asked for it in writing they refused point blank to do that as well. i spent a day on the phone to about 20 brookers and banks and i got the response.
I called baines and ernst (my IVA people) and they said that my IVA would run in to 6 years to make up for it but i would need 3 letters proving a remortage failure.
so my first question how do i get it in writing when no one wants to put it in writing?
shrortly after this baines and ernst was taken over by grant thornton. they called me january this year and said "you was suppose to finish your IVA in october last year making it 5 years, however there is an arreas on the account that needs to be settled. if i paid the arreas at my current payment it would be finished my the end of june"
i havent mentioned the remortage thing to them or the fact that i was told by B&E that i was going in to a 6th year to make up for the non remortage thing.
all i saw was an end to the IVA in june and now im kinda bricking it.
so my second question what will happen next?
thanks

Hi. It might be that GT don't pick up on this -- however .. they MIGHT !!!!
In any event, if they mention it ( otherwise I wouldn't rock the boat at this stage), I imagine doing an onliune application and printing off the refusal page will suffice.0 -
Does an IVA close after the 6th year no matter what? Or can action still be taken?0
-
It can be extended. But, once you have a completion certificate you should be OK.
I would think there is a good chance that GT will pick up on this in any case, as they will go through the case before closure.
Does it specifically mention remortgaging in your proposal ?0 -
Yes it does.
Could some one post a link to an online remortgage company where I would receive an online refusal?
All the online application forms I have filled out has always resulted in some one phoning me.0
