MBNA PPI Reclaim

I sent a template letter to MBNA to reclaim PPI on a credit card I took out in 2003. I recieved a reply on the 4th May 2012 saying that because I had ticked the box on the credit agreement I wasn't entitled to a refund. On further inspection of the Credit Agreement I found that it was not my writing and I remember it was filled out by a rep from MBNA in my local Homebase at the time. Do I write back to them explaining this or do I go straight to the FOS. Any help will be appreciated.

You only had to sign for the card and PPI, the rep would have filled the application in.
Write back to them and tell them you disagree with this rejection, reiterate the reasons you gave for mis sell.
If you had sick pay from work and life insurance or had other ways to repay this card should the worse happen, then put these, show that you had no need for this PPI and would not have taken this had you known what it covered.0 -
Thanks will do, will post an update when I get it.

Make sure that you go to the FOS within 6 months if MBNA don't change their mind because MBNA PPI was a scam.0

I am hearing a lot now about this and at the time felt very let down when my husband died in 1998 we had insurance to cover payments although at the time of his sudden death mbna said we were not covered in the event of death. therefore not sure what we were actually paying covered for. So I paid the outstanding amount without question. I guess this is far too long ago now to question but I am really glad that people are standing up for their rights. In 1998 we didn't have people like Martin:money: or forums where information can be shared. I will watch with interest0
