Phoned Parking Eye for a laugh

Yes I may be sad really but I contacted Parking Eye for a laugh yesterday whilst I had some time to spare to dispute an imaginary ticket I had received at the local Aldi supermarket.
First thing they wanted to know was the ticket number (which I said I didn't have). I made it clear that I was the driver and she was determined to have me give her my name and address (which I claimed I didn't know and she never even clicked at that point that I was on the wind up)
I asked her to explain how they can justify a fee of £75 for me staying 10 minutes over the time limit they stated. She tried avoiding the question a few times but I kept on asking. Her reply was that I had cost Aldi £75 by staying 10 minutes late. I asked her how I could cost them £75 by remaining parked in a free car park whilst shopping in their store to which she replied "that's what they have told us to charge"
I then asked why the fee increases after a set number of days, as my car is no longer in the carpark, therefore not costing them anymore money. That is the rules. She couldn't really offer any information other than I had broken the rules and that was the consequences.
She did finish by stating that if I supplied a copy of my shopping receipt then the ticket would be cancelled which I don't believe for a second. Just wanted me off the phone I think.

They don't like it up 'em, do they? I suppose she is used to people who are nervous and scared because they think the fake ticket is real.0

Hope you weren't paying the phone bill, I know Excel charge 52p per min.Hi Ho Silver Awayyyyyyyyyy0

I found a local rate number other than their 0845 they show on the website.0

Aldi are doing well are they not? 10 mins cost them £75 so 6 X 10 mins per hour = £450 for every car? Say 10 cars per hour for 8 hours = £36,000?
They do struggle if you challenge the reason for the charge. Because we all know it is really a Penalty, which they can not justify or claim.0 -
I honestly don't know whats worse.. the PPCs with their fake scam invoices or the people who think ringing them up as a prank is funny. You'd need to be pretty twisted to get your kicks from that.
Someone around here recently said that sending them an argos catalogue with insufficient postage was their way of dealing with PPCs. I had respect for that as that would genuinely cost them money but ringing up a PPC as a prank doesn't really achieve much and yes, of course they'll want you off the phone asap they only want your money not a life story / arguement.0 -

Something we agree on at least. (Apart from the argos catalogue anyway, they just wouldn't pay for it after the first one, then the Post Office gets stuck with extra work and they lose the money.)0 -
Bah humbug to you both.0
