Paypal Refund

I just wondered how long it takes for a paypal refund to get back to my account.

I won some boots for the OH on eBay and the measurements werent the same as the description

Anyway concated seller she said send back and she would refund my postage costs as well..
So went them Saturday Special Delivery.. She got them yesterday and I got a reply saying...
just to let you know i have recieved your boots and will arrange a refund.

Now how long does it take to 'arrange' a refund
I have never done this before but surely it is just a case of going into the account history and select the transaction details, and click refund payment at the bottom...

So surely I should have got my money already
How long do you reckon I should wait until I contact the seller and tell them I am going to 'arrange' with paypal to get my money back

I have only ever did one refund but it was exactly as you described. I went to the bottom of the details page and clicked refund, then put in the amount and off it whizzed :(
Although the person may not have funds in her paypal ,so she would have to wait till she put some in.

I had a partial refund last week and it took 10 days to reach my Paypal account. Have asked PP twice how and why and just get a load of totally confusing info, nothing specific to my specific transaction.

AFAIK it should be like an instant thing. It's just a matter of going into their PayPal account finding the relevant transaction and refunding.

maybe the seller is waiting to have some funds paid into her account before she can issue you with a refund

Well checking her history she has sold about 14 items since Monday
    Totalling around £400...
I assume at least some of these would have paid by now

If the account had been empty, it would have delayed things.
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j
  • I've had to refund a couple of times and each time I had just withdrawn all the funds from my account. This ment that I had to transfer the money from my bank account to my Paypal which took about a week. Once shes got the funds in there she can refund instantly.
She sounds decent enought to me as shes even offered to refund the postage which she technically doesn't have to do.

IMO maybe they have no funds in paypal or bank so will have to wait till payday maybe? to refund you.
