Disposing of car
I want to get rid of my car, and would like suggestions of how best to do this.
The list price is around £1,000 (51 plate Seat Leon), but the tax, MOT and annual service are all due this month. The engine warning light came on last week and hasn't gone away (I was expecting it to, because the dash is faulty - the seatbelt light remains lit constantly and every now and again the windscreen fluid light comes on as well, but eventually disappears).
To cap it all, the speedo is now stuck at zero.
So I guess that it would cost me in the region of £500 to test/tax/repair, and I would be hard pressed to get much more than that if I sold it on.
Is it likely to have any residual value without repairs, and if so what's the best way to sell it on / if not, how to dispose of it? My biggest worry is that it would be sold on, without proper repair, to some unsuspecting individual.

if you sold it with that description its worth £200
however if you sold it as a spares repairs job no mot,(leave out all the issues) it would attain £500 approx to some schmuck
it would probably cost more than £500 to mot because you probably have a cat issue on a leon of this age and the dash problems are well documented0 -
Thanks s b. So Auto-Trader or the local rag, do you think?0
