Sadly I was one of those that left it too late as I wanted to speak to the Mrs first (you know what I mean guys) anyway the time it took me to speak to her they went out of stock....However I came across an even better deal the only problem is that its NOT a canon camera, but just as good if not identical to be honest A Nikon D40X Twin lense kit...and the price including postage was or is.....£494.95

    D40X Body
    Nikkor AF-S DX Zoom 55-200mm f/4~5.6g ED
Nikkor AF-S DX 18-55 II wideangle Nikkor zoom
Plus all the other extras you get with the kit.

    Here's the website....http://www.purelygadgets.co.uk

    Best of luck

    Regards....

Good news for those who (like me) missed the Tesco offer - as of today, John Lewis online are doing the 400d with kit lense for £345 with free delivery, before Canon cashback - so a bargain price of £300 in the end!! I've just ordered mine and am feeling very chuffed indeed.

Big thanks to Spud for the Camerapricebuster link - been checking it daily, and was rewarded with this when i did today's check!

happy moneysaving (tho probably a misnomer in this case, for me at least buying this camera is likely to be the start of a whole new expensive realm of accessories.....)

There is also a code for £10 off

http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=728331&page=2&highlight=john+lewis+code needs to be as a new customer to get it to work.

Now to convince myself that I need it.........
  • I missed the Tesco offer as well, thought I'd missed out on a chance to finally get the SLR that I'd wanted for ages. To say I was disappointed is putting it mildly

Then after some hopeful searching around I found it on https://www.johnlewis.com for £349 with the option of £45 cashback by redemption and free delivery. And over £10 back from Quidco.

    Now I'm happy again :T

darn, there's always one more trick to miss isn't there!! It looks as though if you use the JL site, canon cashback, the link above for £10 off your first online order, AND quidco, you'd get the total cost to about £285. Crayyyyzeee:T

Having said that, i'm a terrible ditherer and have often missed good deals while i was fishing around for extra discounts. So i'm glad i jumped in at £300 rather than risk missing out!

For those who don't have a time critical need for this camera it is probably worth waiting a few weeks. Prices will come down, the new EOS450D has just been released.
  • Hello,
I checked best shop guide and they list £329.99 as the best price.
