help me find a holiday for 5 in jul/aug 2013

hi
we have now started to find and book a holiday for summer 2013, we are a family of 5, 2 adults, 3 kids... but one child will be 17 so classed as an adult the other two will be 11, we would like AI HOWEVER we have found that we are being classed as 3 adults and 2 children because of ages which is fine but then we are all being put into one room and classed as 2 adults 3 children with the 17 year old on a camp bed, surely if we have been charged as 3 adults and 2 children they cant do this ?????
Any help would be great as we have searched the net and are completely confused with this, our budget is £4k, 10 days would be ideal to any destination, the only thing we dont want is a high rise block somewhere
thankyou in advance for any help you can give......

With a £4K budget I'd be looking at a DIY holiday with flights and a 3 (or more) bedroom villa - you don't get the AI frills but that budget gives you a lot of flexibility.

Last Christmas we went to Lanzarote AI with Thomsons
2 x Deluxe rooms at ClubHotel Riu Paraiso

We are a family of 5 albeit now classed as 4 adults and 1 child

The deluxe rooms are actually bungalows in the gardens and have a twin bedroom and a sofa bed in the lounge.
If you can make that work for you and inside budget, it's worth looking at
    Great place too

We got a much better deal going into the shop rather than online

    One other thought ........
also in Lanzarote with First Choice this time, Seaside Hotel Los Jameos Playa
    They have junior suites

Another very nice place too :)

We are returning to San Miguel Hotel in Puerto San Miguel Ibiza for 5th year running this year because our kids love it there. My daughter was 8 and my son 14 when we first visited . It can be found on Thomson Website or under Hotel Club Hotel Cartago on booking.com. Rooms on these sites only sleep up to four but you can book interconnecting rooms or you can book larger rooms sleeping up to six direct with hotel. If you were interested I could PM you the hotels e mail address.

riu paraiso in lanzarote is an excellent hotel in my opinion i have been there twice now but i believe over the age of 2 years is full adult price
i have been recommended suite atlantis fuerteventura they have junior suites with 2 bedrooms and living area not sure what age the child price is for ai though.
we have found over the years when my then teenage son used to holiday with us even when paying adult price, usually the extra bed in hotel room was a camp bed, he was over 6ft tall then!

jet 2 holidays is worth a look , they have free child offers at the moment for next summer and low deposit of £60 each to book. you did not say which airport you want i think jet2 are mainly northern airports. :)

Have you looked at any villas? Or just going on Expedia and having a look? Or flight and hotel websites seperately instead of just looking at packages?

Weve just booked a holiday with James Villas and they had some that are more than 50% off, if you are lucky and find one that is free for the week you want. There are tons with lots of bedrooms. And you can buy the flights on their website too.

With 4k you should be able to go somewhere really nice. You can buy 5 flights to hawaii with that so finding somewhere in Europe should be easy! :)
