You won't incur fees by delaying exchange.

What's the completion date on which you're all agreed?

On hindsight yes, my partner should have contacted the bank sooner, I guess we were so wrapped up in getting the mortgage in place first (i read too many horror stories re mortgages) then sort out the money transfer. So if someone can learn from our mistake then great :-)

I've learnt that 'Bank Holidays' means the bank has a holiday (ie doesnt work).

Thanks for the advice Alexmac :-) Thanks too Kingstreet. Completion by end of tomorrow.

It wouldn't be so stressful if someone at the bank could just tell us something, anything, so that we can keep the solicitors up to date. I guess I'm just fed up of banks after my transfer for the house took a week because someone at the branch forgot to click the send button and
all my calls to the branch were missed because someone in the bank accidentally turned off the ringer on the phone! Hey ho, live and learn as they say

Are you exchanging and completing on the same day?

Earlier you said exchange will be delayed but you just said you're meant to be completing tomorrow...

THE OP referred to 'exchanging contracts and getting the keys' in their original post, which I've read to mean that the intention was to complete on the same day.

....tomorrow we are, well 'were' supposed to be exchanging contracts and getting the keys,

Our worry is we will now incur additional fees from our solicitor, I feel through no fault of our own.
If you have not Exchanged there will be no penalty and no additional costs.

All that happens is that Exchange is delayed till the funds are availabl.

If you are Completing on the same day, that can still happen, but next week instead of tomorrow.

Exchange is often delayed/postponed in property sales.
