0191 419 4433

Had a missed call today from 0191 419 4433. When I call it back I get an announcement saying that the number have not been recognised.

Tried it using BT, 18185 & mobile phone.

Google comes up with a blank.

Never understand why people call back numbers they don't know, if it was important they would call back.

It sounds like either someone is spoofing their number, so it displays a number that can't be called back, or using ISDN and the number is not one you can call back on.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

I only called it back out of curiosity as a) it's an 01 number and b) 0191 is a near by area code.

If it was a money making 087/4 or 070 number I would not of called it back as I'm aware of the tricks of the trade. ;)
  • Lee,

I was called by the same number today... I answered but there was no reply.

Did you make any progress in working out who is doing this? One phone code lookup site suggested that the 0191 419 code is Washington, Tyne & Wear...

    Regards,
    Richard

Hi, I still have no idea who it was. Least it's in Google now. Welcome to MSE.

I've just been called by that number. When I picked up the phone and heard the busy office noise in the background I didn't even bother to say hello. The person on the other end seemed to be too busy chatting to someone else to realise I'd picked up so I decided to let my staircase carpet deal with the call for me. Seems to have done the trick.

Sounds like it is a call centre of a sales or marketing agency in Washington, using multi dial. The 4433 tends to make it a business number. A lot of these call centres are stopping using withheld numbers as people with caller display are refusing to pick up on these. A lot have tried 0870 and 0845 prefixes and even use 0800 numbers in an attempt to get you to pick up. However they never leave a message on an answer machine. ;)

The more legit use an answer service to inform you who called, if you use 1472-3, and some will give you a number to ring to remove you from the calling list.

  • I googled this number just before after my wife told me she got a call from them this afternoon.

Something to do with kitchens and we had been 'selected' blah, blah, blah. She wasn't really listening as my wife kept asking where she got our number from as we are ex-directory.

'But that just stops you getting listed in the phone book', came the reply, 'you need to be registered with the TPS'.

'Yes', said my wife, 'we already are' and the conversation kind of went dry, she apologised and hung up!

I would REALLY like to know exactly who they are and where they are getting their info from!

I've had several phone calls from this number (I actually live only a few miles away from Washington, Tyne and Wear). At one point this number left a message on my answer machine - someone was just laughing for about 30 seconds. Other times it just gets hung up. Obviously a call centre multidial thing.

Strange how they still phone even when you're registered with the TPS. Not very amused with it, getting annoying now especially since they phone at least once per week.
  • Thanks for putting this information on the web. I just received a call and am glad I found out that its not worth calling back. One has to wonder how such companies turn a profit - as they call and don't even bother trying to sell you anything. I would like to find out who this company is as I am also registered with TPS and clearly this shoddy enterprise is operating outside of the rules.
