Will I still get a ticket in the post?

Just wanted to clarify something... (tried a search but didn't come up with an exact match, so apologies if this has already been covered).
I needed to drop something off in Town was 3 mins max, parked on double yellow lines with hazards on when I got back to my car the traffic warden was filling out a ticket, Im sure I remember hearing somewhere that if its not on your car you're ok :undecided so I drove off
My Car is still registered to my old address (as very recently gone through a separation) so was just one of those jobs Ive not yet got round to doing.
Am I likely to still get a ticket in the post - it wasn't stuck to my car and he didn't give me it so he won't have got round to taking any pictures.
Any info much appreciated - many thanks

It used to be the case that if you drove off before the ticket was attached to the car you were home free, but the law was changed a few years ago to allow a ticket to be issued by post if not attached to the car."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

Ouch - oh well guess I'm done for then

Many thanks for the reply0 -
Bear in mind the paperwork will go to the wrong address. If you ignore it you can get into all sorts of problems. You need to sort it out quickly.Je Suis Cecil.0

Not done for as yet, but you need to ensure that you as the RK of the vehicle update your details with the DVLA, and ensure you get any correspondence that will come. Once you have it all you can take further advice here and on https://www.pepipoo.com to see if there are any problems with the actual PCN or letters sent to you.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
Oh and to make matters worse (I almost forgot) my tax disc has just expired in May - ordered it online on the 1/6 but due to the bank holidays its not arrived yet (hoping it does today) do you think I could be getting an extra penalty for that - just to top my day off :eek:0

I'm still in regular contact with my husband so getting any post isn't a problem - one of the reasons (not an excuse I know) I haven't changed my details is that I'm unsure of the permanency of our current arrangements - c'est la vie and all that, just need to resign myself to accepting my fate of lots of fines I can well do without - thanks again tho everyone

You have five working days to display it I believe, if done online in time.
And as for the original question, you are not 'done for'! You were dropping something off (unloading) which is in fact an exemption on a double yellow. You were OK and should have told the CEO you were unloading, as you jumped into the car and drove away!
And driving away WAS the right thing to do. Not many Councils get a postal PCN right, some do not even have a postal PCN version.
If you get a Notice to Owner in a few weeks, start a new thread for help on pepipoo with a picture of the document (as they cannot proceed straight to NTO stage). Even if they send a Postal PCN you can still win as you were unloading.

Do not accept your fate when you ARE ALLOWED to unload on a double yellow!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
