Low water pressure/loud toilet?

We went for away for a night and when we came back the toilet makes an awful racket when we go to flush it. Whilst we were gone we know the neighbours did some work on the waste pipes as the outlet for their sink was leaking. (Our pipes join up with their pipes.) Is that related at all or just a coincidence?

It's difficult to tell but we also think the water pressure for all our taps has dropped?

My husband has fixed the toilet before so if we can novice DIY it that'd be great :) But will be no problem to call a plumber if you think it necessary.

Thanks for any advice!

Maybe for starters consult your neighbour and see what work was carried out on their side, then you will have a better understanding of your problem, its too much of a coincidence to suggest that you have suddenly got a problem, at this moment that is.

    Good luck

He was just going to replace the pipe/seal that was leaking. Nothing major. I just wonder if now a bit of air's getting in that's making the noise or something?

Approaching with your neighbor will them to finish everything that will keep you from any disturbance and give you a good result.

Is your water supply being shared with your neighbour? Are you living in a house, flat or ?

If you could share a little more information then I am sure that you will get a better response as to solve your problem, or have you solved it yourself?

Is that when you approach the beast because it objects to being flushed or when you actually flush it? :D Sorry couldn't resist. :o

Thats almost certainly a coincidence. You need to try and identify whether its the flush valve or the fill valve thats making the noise then post back on here because I'm guessing it's one of them.

    Flow rate or pressure?
