Which repayment box to tick?

Hi, this is my first post on here but I have been reading posts for a while. I am in the process of doing a PPI claim against 1st Plus/Freedom/Wilmslow Finance and have the forms from the FCFS to fill in.
In the Payment arrangements section should I tick payment directly to lender, or payment to toher person/organisation?
After reading posts on here about getting the money straight back on to the loan (we still have a bit to repay) I was thinking the first box, but I'm not sure if that is if you are dealing with the lender direct rather than the FCFS, and how do I know that they lender wont' 'lose' any cheque that the FCFS send, and would we be notified of any payout?
Is it safer to just get the cheque paid to myself and then ring the lender and ask for a settlement figure?
Thanks in advance
Paula
