Main Combi HE 30 - hot water only when on full blast

Having trouble with our combi right now, we only have hot water when the shower or taps are on full. As soon as you try to turn down the flow then the hot water stops and only cold comes out.
Any clues anyone? Much appreciated.

Diaphragm started to perish.
Easy job on these, they are the same as the Potterton Performa or Baxi 105 HE.
Probably about £80 + VAT to call someone out to replace it, including part.0
