Airmiles Credit Card

in Credit cards
Hello there,
I'm a first time poster, but have heard wonders about this forum so need some advice.
I graduated from University around 3 years ago with a godawful credit score (I stupidly though applying for credit cards regularly was a good idea
)
since then, I have nailed down a good job with a significant paycheck and lots of travel. I've racked up more than a few airmiles and spend a lot of money on expenses, which I get reimbursed by my company. This seems like a relatively risk free way of getting some good rewards, as I can book flights and cover expenses with the card and then pay them off at the end of each month in full when my company reimburse me.
I want to take advantage of this by getting a British Airways airmiles credit card. The problem is that I probably don't have a good enough credit score. I've done some research and tried to improve it in the following ways:
- Registered myself on the electoral roll in my rented address
- Ensured all bills are paid on time
With this in mind, I STILL got rejected by them for an airmiles credit card. Is there any way at all I can do something to change this?
Any help is appreciated.

This is one good card but I am using AMEX and MC Citibank for now but only pay one annual fee, as that's their policy. It give me flexibility on capturing business expenses on one card and personal expenses on another.0
