Help Needed Clydesdale Bank

Hi all,
Please can anyone give me some advice for my partner.
He has received his offer letter from the Clydesdale Bank which he signed the form and returned back to them.
Today he has chased this up and they told him the money will be in the bank next week and then he said hold on there are some notes here that they are having discussions with the insurance company as after investigating they saw he has made a claim and he will be told more information when they have it.
Can they withdraw the offer even when they have said that they are in the wrong? or will they find out how much has been paid on the policy and adjust the settlement.
Can they still do this even when they said that they were in the wrong and offer the money?
Any advice would be greatly received.
Thanks

Yes - they can change the offer or withdrawal an offer if new information comes to light.
it is likely they will deduct the total of any previous claim from the redress payable.
There is not much you can do about it really!0 -
Hi, we have had movement the money has now been transferred so we called the bank to confirm everything was ok and was told yes the money has been transferred and its yours.
We have now just had a call from the bank saying that they have given us more money and we owe them some back as they made an oversight.
As the settlement letter states this is the last correspondence and we now have the money. Surely they cant just ask for the money back?
Does anyone know what our rights are on this?
Thanks0 -
I am afraid that they can ask for this back, they made the offer but were finding out if a claim had been made on the insurance, they found that it had, this is why they can ask for the money back.
Give FOS a call and they will tell you what the bank can do.
