Driving is tiring when you start. I would not want to do more than 1 hour a day for the 1st week. Then step up the time behind the wheel. Do you have anyone you can go out with?
1 lesson a week on the other hand has to be the worst way to Learn.0 -
I was having 2 x 2 hour lessons a week when I was learning. Even that got tiring and boring nearer the passing the test time.
I also agree that 1 hour a week is not enough.0 -
To get my license in a hurry I had 2hour lessons several times a week. I found a lot could be covered in a lesson and I did not forget much between sessions. It did not take long to be ready for the test.
I agree with MX5 the intensive route sounds like very hard work. If you have enough time individual lessons would be more pleasant and might work out cheaper too if you don't need too many.

Yow want to take 1 hour lessons for the first 3-4 (the first few are very overwhelming), the after that go onto 2 hour lessons once a week. There will be a 2-3 month waiting list for the practical test, so get a couple more lessons in over the couple of weeks before your test.
Book your theory test straight in and get a copy of driving test success on the computer (this is exactly the same questions as the actual test center)
Unfortunately you cannot rush becoming a safe and confident driver.0 -

Ask the company what their pass rate is. My daughter had an hour a week with an instructor, then was out in her car for as many hours as I 'd go with her. Really it's down to you, if you need it for your job, you'll do it.0 -
Many years ago . . . I learned to drive on a 5 day residential course in North Wales. It was great for me as I had a bit of a phobia about driving and getting a lot of experience in a short space of time was what I needed. We were paired up and each pair went out with an instructor, taking turns one hour driving and one hour as a passenger (still learning something!) So we each got 3-4 hours of lessons per day. Staying at a B&B, in the evenings there were optional activities like Highway Code quizzes. When I booked there was an option to take the Driving Test at the end of the week, on the Friday afternoon. I didn't do this - in fact it was some months before I took the test - but some of the others did.
It was quite expensive, but I found it a valuable experience as it got me over the phobia of getting behind the wheel. Because I had paid for the course in advance I had to go through with it but if I had just had a one hour lesson and it had gone badly, I may not have had another one!
I think it's definitely worth considering if you need to learn quickly.0 -
I did, I passed and yes I'd say go for it & good luck!!
