Hi, I'm new to these forums so terribly sorry if I've put this in the wrong section or anything...
I'm 17, and just finishing sixth form and hoping to go to University in September, so I want to try and make some money to have a comfortable start at least. Unfortunately, jobs where I live are scarce so I've resorted to focusing mainly on online income and my only experience is a week in a solicitor's office, not much good here. :P
I've been doing some surveys with ValuedOpinions since September and earned about £20 so far, which has worked well for me since I don't really need that much money at the moment (I'm fairly good with money and rarely go out). But my savings have been depleted quite a bit having to pay for accommodation deposits for university. £350 for a place I'm not sure I'll even get into!
Anyone able to give me some advice on the best ways to make money online?
I started a blog yesterday saying what I've been doing today if that's any help, the link is on my profile.
I'd be happy for almost any kind of work you can suggest really.
Thanks for reading my horrifically long first post and sorry if I bored you :P

I'd start by voluntering somewhere to build up skills for C.V. You really need to start thinking longer term rather than quick gain.
The internet is not the easy honey pot people make out. Hard work and building up relationships in the business world are what will get you somewhere.
As for quick cash can you baby sit for family or friends?Life is short, smile while you still have teeth0 -

I'm not really looking to do that for the moment, volunteering is only going to cost me money because of travel costs and to be honest, it isn't that important to me at this stage. I'm planning on continuing a job search in university rather than keep trying here.
I'm not really expecting massive amounts of cash, £10 or £20 a month would be great at the moment considering I'm slightly into minus money having let people borrow it.
Unfortunately no, babysitting is not an option, my family are quite poor and barely struggle to get by anyway. The only money I'll get for the rest of the summer is about a week's EMA I think and from my birthday about a month before I'm due to start.0 -

Hey,
There is a very good thread that I always look at when I want to find a new survey site. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3034918
Or you can look at the official MSE article which is always at the top of this forum in my experience.
It's also good to look at the first few pages of this sub-forum, personally I use swagbucks, pinecone, mysurvey, maximiles, valuedopinions, err... I use like 20 sites ...0 -
The only issue with survey sites is that they generally pay pittence for a lot of hard work (and a lot of screening out)
However, times are rather bleak for me at the moment so I may have to get back into them.2008 Wins: The Shapes - Get Your Learn On (CD), Free transport to and from a Christmas Party2009 Wins: Years Supply of Orbit Complete (144 packets), £50 of Odeon vouchers

How about making your own jewellery, it sells well on ebay!0

Ignore those telling you to sell things like jewellery, especially the person who said it sells well on Ebay. If you want to earn money then forget it, as it does sell well on Ebay if the price is 99p or lower thanks to Chinese competition. A website selling items that thousands of other websites sell is pointless as you would need to invest a lot of money to get visitors to it Nevermind sales! I work for Lionbridge. You have to commit 10 hours but it is good. Google it as all staff sign none disclosure statements so we can't say much but it is legitimate, you don't pay anything and there is a thread about the Lionbridge exams. The one thing to check is that you are old enough though but if you have a birthday soon then you won't wait long x0

I'm also going to uni and you can't make much with crowdology (the emails don't seem frequent enough) but it pays really well for your time as you just click the link to the survey from your email and you never have to log into the site to check for surveys. Also I don't remember ever getting screened out after 10 questions. Payout is at £4.00 by paypal, I think.
Cloudcrowd varies a lot depending on the task you are doing, some tasks are worth it and you can make approx £5.50-£6.00 an hour but most of them suck and pay a pittance. Although there is normally something available and no matter how little you've done it does pay the same day so if you needed money pretty instantly it's an option.0 -
hi, some online earning sites might not accept you until your 18, but there is a list of sites here http://www.ilovefreebiesuk.net/teenzone.htm that accept under 18's for surveys, market research like focus groups, etc.
hope its helpful to you0 -

Killerpeaty has listed a great thread to check out! However a few of my favourite websites don't always get mentioned and you may want to check them out:
PanelOpinion
Toluna
yougov
To earn an adequate amount of money you may want to join a fair few survey websites!
Good Luck:eek: 2014: £20 voucher from SurveyFriends, £10 cash payout from Panel Opinion too and working towards more from Valued Opinions currently.
2013: £35 and £50 vouchers from SurveyFriends! More than £15 made from other paid surveys sites (Yougov, Panel Opinion, Valued Opinions, Pinecone, etc.) Happy so far!0
