Car insurance address, different to DVLA Licence address?

My DVLA driving licence address is in one location, (which will be that for 3 more years)
but i am going to be at a new temporarily address for a 1.5 year work placement... and my yearly car insurance is due.
This new address is 2 hours from the old one.
for my car insurance renewal, should i write this 'new address'....which is where I wil be at on the date of renewal?
or can just leave the address of my DVLA licence (which is what I have always put as the car insurance address) ?
-on the basis that I am temporarily away?
in other words, if my 'car insurance' address doesn't match my DVLA licence address...is that ok?
. and lets say the worse case scenario, i make a clam?
or don't the car insurance people link themselves to your DVLA licence address? and don't car?

Where do you want the cheque sent if you write it off? The insurance address should be where you keep the car.0

There is ultimately no issue of the two not matching. Your home address for the motor insurance must be where you will be spending most your time but you can have a separate correspondence address if you dont want your mail going to your temp work address.
The DVLA has its own legal requirements over the "correct" address being on the V5 which are independent to the insurers requirements0 -
As already advised, the address on your licence is irrelevant to your insurance.
But your insurer needs to know where the car is kept at night.
So you can keep your home address for correspondence, but when you go away for a year and a half you do need to tell them where the car will be kept.0
