Can anyone give you a personal recommendation? I know it's not a guarantee but it is nice to know if someone has had a good experience.

Well I got a few recommendations off here and some from other places and my main factor was COST. So I got back in contact with them all and asked what their total charge would be (as far as that is possible and no emergency stuff cropping up). Some charged by the letter, some charged for every call, some had what seemed like small costs but lots of extras added on. The one I went with is the solicitor who could tell me upfront what I was likely to be charged and what I should put aside to pay their fees for. In the event it was about £60 out and I'd put that aside.

It really depends on what you need the most? Incredibly speedy solicitor who devotes all time to you? Or cost effective one who passes on his cases to an efficient solicitor in training. I am quite satisfied with mine, although the advocate (or trainee solicitor) could have been a bit more pushy and using his initiative, he was happy to get a bit stroppy if I asked him to!
