Want to set up a website

I need advice on setting up a web site. I have a great idea for one, but don't know the best way of going about it. It is for a limited group, so I want to limit access to people who are registered. I don't want to charge for it, and I don't want a chat site on it.
Any advice as to where to go to get it designed, and pitfalls to look out for?

"Don't critisise what people look like, how they speak, where they are from, and what they are called. They cannot help it.
Do critisise what they say, and what they do, especially if what they say is different to what they do. They can help that"

You could set up a Yahoo Group at
https://www.yahoogroups.com
you can set it up with several restrictions including members only, moderated or not, without chat and many other possibilities.
MSN do a similar package too.
Both are free.0 -
you can set up a Nuke site, which comes pretty much built and allows you to have people log in fro access0
